01Challenge
Challenge
Small-format outdoor gear often photographs like an accessory. It had to photograph like a decision.
02Strategy
Strategy
Anchor the cooler in a full-frame alpine scene — golden-hour lake, campfire, mug of coffee — then let three-line condensed type do the pitch. Small cooler, seriously cold, built for the long way.
03Creative Direction
- 01Cinematic golden-hour palette — warm rock, cool water, red as the only saturated note
- 02Type stacked left, product staged right — a magazine spread compressed into 2:3
- 03One-line kicker in YETI red beneath the wordmark — no logo lockup, no badge clutter
- 04Copy carried in weight and rhythm, not adjectives
04Production
- 01AI-assisted environmental composite, art-directed and hand-finished
- 02Delivered as a Pinterest 2:3 vertical, with LinkedIn 4:5 and 16:9 web cutdowns queued
- 03Grading matched to the DJ&A campaign process — one studio look, two very different subjects

08Lessons Learned
- The landscape is the ad. The product is the punctuation.
- Three stacked words in a heavy condensed face outperform a full tagline paragraph.
09Future Improvements
- Publish LinkedIn 4:5 and a 16:9 web hero from the same scene.
- Extend into a three-part seasonal series (spring lake, autumn ridge, winter trailhead).
- Add a 5-second motion loop — steam off the mug, flicker of firelight — for social.
